This class has members who started in October 2025 and May 2026. The first part of the session is done together, then it splits into "beginners" and "intermediate" groups: each led by one of the tutors.

There are timed intakes for new members. The January 2026 group began on Wednesday 7th January: there will be a new intake into the Wednesday group later in the year.

If you would like to take up Tai Chi all you need is comfortable clothes and flat, comfortable shoes (such as trainers), as all of the gentle exercises and movements are done in a standing position. The cost is £5 per month and places are offered on a first come first serve basis, to those members who are new to Tai Chi.

Notes for those interested in joining any group.

1. Anyone can attend one monthly meeting and one interest group meeting before deciding whether to join Washington Village u3a. Annual membership from 1st April 2026 is £12 (from 1st October until 31st March it is £8). More information about membership is on our Join Us page. Please note that there is a fee to attend some group sessions.
