Who are we?

Washington Village u3a (WVu3a) began in May 2014, and is a lively and friendly organisation for anyone who has finished working full-time. We welcome new members.
Our u3a is a great way to meet new people, take up new hobbies and have fun. Our aim is to offer a wide range of activities for people who want to learn new things, enjoy life and make new friends. Our ethos is that everyone is a volunteer and has something to offer so all our activities are run by our members, for our members. Anyone who has an interest gets together with other members who share the same interest and they start a group. We have more than 30 groups to choose from and plenty of opportunities to get involved: you can join a group, start a new group, volunteer by serving tea and coffee, get involved in one of our projects, share your knowledge and skills or join our Committee.

Meetings and Interest Groups.

We have a general monthly meeting in the Function Room at The Stella in Washington. This is held on the first Thursday of the month and typically includes a speaker or entertainment of some kind, updates about our interest groups and time for socialising over tea and coffee.
We have a special table for visitors, guests and new members where our Committee members will make you feel very welcome … so please don't worry about coming into a room full of strangers or coming on your own.
We have over 30 different interest groups - everything from badminton to ukulele - where members can take part in activities they enjoy. Our Groups page gives more information on these.
You can attend one monthly meeting and one interest group meeting, free and without obligation, before deciding whether to join us (however, you may need to contribute towards the cost of room hire or buy a drink).
Please explore our website and Facebook - Washington Village u3a Public - page to see the latest on what we have to offer. Once you join us you can also join our private Facebook Group. We look forward to meeting you very soon.
