We are always happy to welcome new members. To join Washington Village u3a (Registered Charity Number 1179094) please contact our Membership Secretary or download and complete the application form and bring it (together with the membership fee) to one of our monthly meetings. Our annual membership costs £12 from 1st April 2026 (join for £8 from 1st October to 31st March). We accept payment by bank transfer (preferred) or cash: please note we no longer accept cheques.
With your membership you get:
- 12 meetings a year
- a national magazine u3aMatters (published five times a year and delivered to your door)
- access to our interest groups and those in our network of five local u3as which offers more opportunities to find activities you enjoy
You can attend one monthly meeting and one interest group meeting, without obligation, before deciding whether to join us (however, you may need to contribute towards room hire, buy a drink, etc).
We have a general monthly meeting in the Function Room at The Stella in Washington. This is held on the first Thursday of the month and typically includes (i) a speaker, or entertainment of some kind, (ii) information about our interest groups, and (iii) time for socialising, browsing our book and jigsaw swap, checking out group options.
We have a special table for visitors and new members where our Committee members will make you feel very welcome ... so please don't worry about coming into a room full of strangers, or coming on your own.
We also have over 30 different interest groups, where members take part in activities they enjoy with others, our Groups page gives more information on these.
N.B. We also offer Associate membership, costing £8 from 1st April 2025 (this reduces to £4 if you join from October to March). This is for those who are already a member of another u3a but also wish to enjoy all the benefits of WVu3a membership (including attendance at the monthly meetings).
