Event type: Group meeting
Date: 28th November 2025
Time: 10:00 am
Group: Walking
Organiser:

Led by Dorothy Stewart and Janet Reay

Meet opposite to the Harbour View pub (SR6 0NX) at 10 a.m. The Marine Walk car park (SR6 0PL)  costs 70p per hour (or part thereof) or £3 all day. On-street parking has been reduced due to the new cycle lane but you may be able to park on Dame Dorothy Street free of charge.

We will walk along along the upper promenade towards Seaburn then drop down onto the seafront and proceed along the riverside path until we reach the Ray Lonsdale sculptures near Wearmouth Bridge. In the event of very wet weather, we can spend some time in the National Glass Centre and/or St Peter’s Church on the way to see the sculptures.

The walk will be along good paths which are mainly flat and will be no more than 5 miles.
