The cost of parking is £1 20 for 2 hrs or £2 for 4 hrs. The length of the walk is 4.6 miles.

We will walk along the river (via an initial toilet stop) all the way to the A183 (taking care to cross this road). We will then walk up the hill for about a mile to Houghton Gate. After a little way along this road we turn left and head back down through Lumley Woods coming out at Lumley Castle. Finally we walk by the golf course, over the bridge and back to the car park. 

If the cafe is open, those who want to can stop for a cuppa.
