Led by Richard & Janet Mulvey. It includes a planning meeting, led by Sandra Graham, for our walks from July-December, so please bring any suggestions for walks that you are willing to lead to the meeting. Alternatively, if you are unable to attend this walk, could you send me any suggestions you have, please, along with preferred dates. This is a 5/6 linear walk from Briardene in Whitley Bay to Seaton Sluice. We'll start the walk there at 10am. The route may be slightly boggy in places. There are a couple of places for toilet stops and we'll break at the Waterford Arms for a drink and possibly a bite to eat. We'll also have our planning meeting there. The post code for the walk start point is NE26 4NG. This takes you close. The car park is across the dual carriageway next to the sea/beach - 'Ocean View/Brierden car park'. Parking is free for 4 hours. En-route: when on the A1148 (Monkseaton Drive), you will pass Whitley Bay High School. Don't turn left at the roundabout onto Calremont Road (Foxhunters Furniture is on the left corner) if prompted by the sat nav. Instead, continue straight down to the bottom of the road where it meets the seafront. A sign showing 'Links/Redezvous Cafe' (Vera's favourite haunt) will be in front of you. Turn left at the roundabout towards Briardene. After the Car Wash and the 'Tavern and Galley' look for a right turn to do a u-turn across the dual carriageway, then turn into the car park. What 3 words ///.Maybe.Pushy.Fruit
